How much does a concrete driveway cost in Delaware, Ohio?
It's the question we get more than any other, so here are actual numbers. These are 2026 ballparks for Delaware County. Your price depends on your site, but this should tell you if you're in the right neighborhood.
The quick version
A plain broom-finish concrete driveway runs about $8 to $15 a square foot here, installed. Stamped or colored concrete costs more, usually $13 to $22.

Those include tearing out an existing driveway, which is how most of our driveway jobs start.
What pushes the price up or down
- Tearing out the old one. Breaking up old concrete or asphalt and hauling it off adds roughly $2 to $5 a square foot.
- The base. Soft clay has to be dug out and replaced with compacted limestone. It varies a lot from lot to lot, and it's the one thing we'd never trim to save money.
- Thickness. Four inches is standard for cars. Five or six inches for a pickup, camper or boat trailer means more concrete and more labor.
- Access and slope. A steep drive, or a spot a concrete truck can't back up to, means more hand work or a pump truck.
- The apron. Replacing the section at the street usually needs a permit and has to meet the city's specs.
- Finish. Broom finish is standard. Stamping, color, borders and exposed aggregate add to it.
Concrete or asphalt?
Asphalt costs less up front, often $4 to $8 a square foot around here. It also needs sealcoating every two or three years and usually lasts 15 to 20 years in our weather. A well-built concrete driveway commonly goes 30 years or more with not much more than a sealer every few years. Over the life of a house, concrete usually comes out ahead, and it looks better doing it.
Asphalt still makes sense sometimes, like a long rural drive where the upfront cost matters most, or if you're planning to sell in a couple of years.
